Why hire a coach

Why Hire a Coach? (And Yes, This Might Be a Bit Self Serving)

Let’s just call it out upfront.  Writing a piece about why you should hire a coach... when we are coaches... well, the conflict of interest isn’t exactly subtle. But hang in there, because this isn’t just about “what we do".  It’s about what coaching actually provides, and how it parallels what you offer as a financial advisor.

Think of it this way: just as your clients work with you for more than portfolio performance, professionals work with coaches for more than just a bump in revenue or assets under management. Sure, those are important metrics—but they’re just the tip of the iceberg.

You already know that advising is about more than numbers. It’s tax planning, estate strategies, risk management, helping someone decide not to buy that third home in a different time zone just because their neighbor did. It’s structure. It’s support. It’s follow through. It’s providing a bit of sanity.

And coaching? Same thing.

Yes, we focus on measurable outcomes like business growth, improved revenue, or new households. But there’s so much more under the hood. Just like you’re a financial coach for your clients, We are here as a business and mindset coach for advisors. We listen. We push. We help you see what’s not obvious, and nudge you when you're about to go off script.

So, what does a coach really do for you?

  • A coach is a confidant - you can say the things you wouldn’t tell your team, your clients, or even your spouse. We hold space.

  • A coach helps you see your blind spots - because you can't fix what you don't see.

  • A coach gives objective feedback - no agenda, just clarity.

  • A coach is a second set of eyes - we all need someone looking at the big picture.

  • A coach keeps you accountable - yes, even when you don’t feel like it.

  • A coach is a sounding board - sometimes, saying it out loud is the breakthrough.

  • A coach helps you come up with ideas - we brainstorm, we test, we refine.

  • A coach helps shape your vision - based on your values, not someone else’s playbook.

  • A coach celebrates with you - and doesn’t disappear when things hit the fan.

  • A coach helps you process - because life and business don’t exist in neat compartments.

Here’s the bottom line.  If you’ve ever thought, “I just need someone to talk this through with,” or “I could go further, faster, if I had a push in the right direction”.  That is what a coach can bring to the table.

Your clients don’t work with you for one trade.  They stay with you for peace of mind, structure, and the knowledge that someone’s got their back.  You don’t hire and work with a coach for one magic answer. You hire one to stay sharp, stay on track, and stay in motion.

So yes, maybe this is a little self-serving. But if anything here resonates with you.  If you’re craving focus, accountability, or just a smarter, more sustainable way to grow, then it’s really not about me.

It’s about what you could accomplish... with a coach in your corner.
